Billy Moyer Prepares for NALMS Tri-Track Challenge Following Busy
(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team competed in
a pair of high-profile Dirt Late Model events in the states of Missouri
and Illinois over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. On Friday and Saturday,
May 27-28, Billy Moyer entered the 19th Annual 'Show-Me 100' at the
pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Billy timed in fifth
fastest in his group during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying
on Friday night and later logged a fifth place finish in his heat race.
The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" then posted a third place
effort in his B-Main on Saturday evening, but that was unfortunately
one spot out of a coveted transfer position into the $30,000 to win
Also on Friday at Wheatland, Billy swept the two special races that
followed the six heat races. The Batesville, Arkansas native won both
the Manufacturer's Dash and the Race of Champions, which netted Billy
an extra $1,750 for his efforts.
The busy holiday weekend wrapped up on Sunday, May 29 at the Tri-City
Speedway in Granite City, Illinois with the $10,000 to win 'Budweiser
50.' Billy laid down the quickest lap in his group during the qualifying
session and later won his stacked heat race. After rolling off from
the outside of the front row in the 50-lapper, Billy hung around the
front of the field and eventually notched a third place performance
behind only winner Jason Feger and runner-up Scott James. Full results
from both shows can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.
Another busy weekend will greet the #21 team starting tonight, June
2 at the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois. The first round of
the Northern Allstars Late Model Series-sanctioned Tri-Track Challenge
will be held at Highland tonight and a $5,000 top prize is on the line.
Similar programs will then take place on Friday at the Paducah International
Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky and on Saturday at the I-55 Raceway in
Pevely, Missouri. Additional information on the trio of NALMS shows
this weekend can be found by clicking on www.northern-allstars.com.
