Billy Moyer Takes Third Checkered Flag of 2016 Season; Eyes $100k
(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) A last minute decision to invade Tri-City Speedway
in Granite City, Illinois on Friday evening, June 3 netted Billy Moyer
his third feature victory of the 2016 racing season! Billy swept the
UMP Super Late Model portion of the program, as he posted the fastest
lap in his group during qualifying before winning both his heat race
and the fast dash. In the feature, the popular driver known as "Mr.
Smooth" beat Tim Manville, Billy Laycock, Jeff Herzog, and Michael
Kloos to the checkered flag to record the $2,000 triumph! Complete results
from the St. Louis area venue can be accessed by clicking on www.tricityspeedway.net.
Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) is now set to descend upon the hallowed ground
of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 9-11 for the 22nd Annual
'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Things kick off at the "Big E" on
Thursday and Friday with a full program featuring hot laps, time trials,
heats, last chance races, and Twin 25 features. Thursday's twin main
events will pay $5,000 each to the winner, while Friday's 25-lappers
reward the winner with a $10,000 payday.
A new point system from the preliminary nights will then set the field
for Saturday's six heat races. For those not transferring through heat
race action, a pair of consolation events will then help round out the
starting field for the 100-lap headliner. As is the norm, another whopping
$100,000 windfall awaits the victor of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.'
Billy has made fourteen career starts in the Dream finale and has emerged
victorious on two different occasions in 1998 and 2010. Additional information
on the lucrative weekend, which boasts a total purse of $384,350, can
be obtained by pointing your Internet browser to www.eldoraspeedway.com.
