Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) ventured north to Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on October 11-12 for 'FALS Frenzy.' The doubleheader weekend in the Land of Lincoln was scheduled to start with a $5,000 to win weekend opener, but that show was nixed due to rain showers on Friday night. At FALS on Saturday evening, Billy Moyer earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session prior to picking up the victory in heat race action. (Todd Healy Photo)

Billy then led laps 8-9, 11-12, and 16-54 during the $15,000 to win headliner. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer was unfortunately passed by eventual winner Brandon Sheppard on the cushion with only six circuits remaining in the 60-lap affair, but Billy was able to steer his new Capital racecar to an impressive runner-up showing at the racy 1/4-mile oval. "It was a fun race and our new Capital car felt really good running that middle and bottom," exclaimed Moyer following the event. "We had a great battle with (Shannon) Babb early and then we led most of the thing. That's kind of the hard part about being out front is you don't really know exactly where to be on the racetrack. Brandon (Sheppard) got up on the wheel and blasted that cushion and congratulations to him on the win. I can't thank Marshall Green at Capital Race Cars, Shane Clanton, and everyone associated with their program enough for helping speed up my learning curve with this new racecar and I'm looking forward to competing in the Spooky 50 this weekend at Chatham Speedway!"

Next up on the racing calendar for the famed #21 team will be a visit to Chatham Speedway for the upcoming 'Spooky 50.' The Louisiana Late Model Series will preside over the program at the Chatham, Louisiana facility, which starts with an open practice session on Thursday, October 17. Qualifying and heat races will then be held on Friday, October 18, while the headliner for the ground-pounding Supers will be on Saturday, October 19 with a $5,000 top prize up for grabs. Be sure to come out to Chatham to watch Billy sling dirt in one of his final appearances during the '19 campaign while he guns for career victory #841!

To kick off the weekend of events for the 26th edition of the 'Spooky 50,' Billy will participate in a public appearance on Thursday, October 17 from 1:00pm- 3:00pm at Logan's Roadhouse (parking lot) located at 201 Constitution Drive in Monroe, Louisiana. Local television and radio will be on hand doing a live remote of the appearance, including driver interviews. Billy and other drivers will also be available for autographs and several giveaways.

Along with the Super Late Models, the USCS Sprint Cars will be in action at the Pelican State facility, as champion open wheel drivers such as Tony Stewart, Morgan Turpen, and Terry Gray will compete in a pair of full events on Friday and Saturday. Winged Modified, Limited, Street Stock, B-Mod, Factory, and Compact divisions will also keep fans on the edge of their seats throughout the three-day extravaganza, as they each race for a $1,000 payday. As an incentive to attend the Thursday practice session, track officials will award the top two fastest drivers in each division a provisional into Saturday's annual 'Spooky 50.' More details including start times and admission prices can be found on the Chatham Speedway Facebook page, as well as on the web at
