Billy Moyer Advances to Second in Fall Classic; Wraps Up Season
this Weekend at Magnolia!
(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Following a rare couple of weekends off from
Dirt Late Model competition, Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) returned to action
on October 22-23 at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi.
The unsanctioned 'Coors Light Fall Classic' took place at Whynot over
the weekend and a healthy field of sixty entrants signed in to compete
for the $15,000 top prize. Billy Moyer started his weekend off by laying
down the second fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session
on Friday night. He later ran second in his heat race behind winner
Chris Wall, despite starting at the tail of the field for arriving late
to the staging area.
When action resumed on Saturday evening at Whynot, Billy rolled off
seventh on the grid in the 100-lap 'Coors Light Fall Classic.' The Batesville,
Arkansas native was patient throughout the race, but turned up the wick
late in the event in an effort to chase down leader Brian Birkhofer.
Billy closed the gap to a couple of car lengths in the waning laps,
but was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance and a $7,500
paycheck. Full results from the 16th Annual 'Coors Light Fall Classic'
can be found online at www.whynotmotorsportspark.com.
Another $15,000 to win event will greet the #21 team this upcoming
weekend (October 29-30) in the state of Mississippi. Billy will visit
the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this weekend for
the 7th Annual 'Cotton Pickin 100.' The unsanctioned program at the
"Mag" will kick off on Friday night with qualifying and heat
race action. Saturday's portion of the 'Cotton Pickin 100' weekend will
be headlined by the consolation races and the 100-lap main event. Additional
